Callaway lists the Quantum Max Fast hybrid right-handed only. The Elyte Max Fast hybrid is built right and left handed. The Quantum Max Fast is listed in right hand alone. If you play left handed, this comparison ends here: the new generation does not replace the club you own.
The second thing is that the whole set moved stronger. Elyte Max Fast: 23°, 27°, 31°, 35° and 39°, labelled 4H through 8H. Quantum Max Fast: 20°, 22°, 25°, 28°, 31° and 34°, labelled 3H through 8H. A 3H appears at the top, and the 8H goes from 39° to 34° — five degrees. Every slot in the middle is stronger than the one it replaces, so the number on the sole will not tell you what you used to hit with it. If you carry the Elyte 6H at 31°, the equivalent gap in the Quantum set is the 7H.
Price goes up: $299.99 to $349.99, both published by Callaway.
On hardware, Callaway lists an adjustable hosel on both, and lists a movable weight on the Elyte Max Fast but none on the Quantum Max Fast. It does not publish the hosel's degree range on either club. Head volume is published on one side only: 122 cc for the Quantum Max Fast, nothing for the Elyte.
Geometry drifts slightly: lie 58.0° to 58.75°, length 40.5" to 40.75". Stock shaft is the same on both, a Mitsubishi Vanquish 40 IR/HYB — so the shaft is not the reason to switch.
Callaway's claims are the same pitch in different words: a shallower face for high launch at moderate speeds on the Elyte, and its lightest hybrid with high MOI and a shallow face on the Quantum.
Our read: $50 more, no left-handed build, the same shaft, and a set of lofts you have to re-map before you can even compare. Keep the Elyte Max Fast.
