Club for club, the XP GEN8 has exactly the same lofts as your GEN7. From the 18° 4-iron to the 60° LW, all ten clubs match to the degree, including the 27° 7-iron and 41° pitching wedge, and the 7-iron is 37.5" in both. Nothing about your gapping would change.
The published difference is construction. Your GEN7 is a forged, hollow-body iron; PXG lists GEN8 as a forged face on a cast body with tungsten weighting and doesn't say whether it's hollow. Offset at the 7-iron is a touch more on GEN8, 4.19 mm against 4.06 mm.
PXG aims both generations at players who want distance, forgiveness and an easy launch. It says GEN8's heel and toe weights swap from 2 to 12 g, and said GEN7's polymer core pushed ball speed to the USGA COR limit. Both are brand claims.
There's no published launch price, stock shaft or stock set make-up for either, so we can't put a cost on switching.
