Our take Our assessment (based on published specs)

Both combine radar with cameras, both sit behind the ball and both makers say they measure spin. The MLM2PRO is $599.99 (on sale from $699.99); the Mevo Gen2 is $1,299.

Room: about 14.5 ft for the MLM2PRO (8 ft to the net plus 6.5 ft behind the ball) and 16 ft for the Gen2 (8 plus 8).

What spin and club data cost: Rapsodo says spin needs RPT balls ($69.99 a dozen) and a Premium membership ($199.99 a year), and club path and attack angle also need Premium. FlightScope says all core data on the Gen2 is free with no subscription; indoors it needs aluminum stickers ($45 for 1,000, 100 in the box) or RCT balls, and club path and face angle need the one-time Pro Package ($599 on sale).

Courses: the Gen2 includes 8 E6 Connect courses for life; more cost $300 a year. Rapsodo's 30,000+ courses need Premium.

Our read: if you'll pay for a plan anyway, the MLM2PRO is the cheaper way into spin and course play. If you'd rather pay once and not subscribe, the Gen2 costs more up front but its maker doesn't charge a yearly fee for core data. We haven't tested either unit; this is based on published specs.
