Every loft got half a degree stronger, and the price went up $30. TaylorMade lists the Qi35 Max in 15.5°, 18.5°, 21.5° and 24.5°. The Qi4D Max is 15°, 18°, 21° and 24°. Same four club labels — 3, 5, 7, 9 — half a degree less loft in each one. On a game-improvement fairway that is the direction most players do not want, and it is the first thing to check against the gaps you already have.
The head grew the other way: 190 cc to 200 cc, both figures from TaylorMade's own pages. Ten cubic centimetres is a shape change at address, not a published distance claim, and TaylorMade makes no comparative claim between these two that we could repeat.
The stock shaft changed weight class, which matters more than most spec-sheet lines. The Qi35 Max ships with a Fujikura AirSpeeder 25; the Qi4D Max with a Mitsubishi REAX 55 FW. That is a 25-gram shaft replaced by a 55-gram one as the no-upcharge option. If the AirSpeeder is why the club works for you, the Qi4D Max does not offer it.
Everything else holds. Both are 43.25" at the 3-wood, both carry the ±2° hosel, both come right and left handed. Neither page publishes a lie angle, so that row is blank on both sides rather than guessed.
TaylorMade's own MSRP went from $349.99 to $379.99.
Our read: keep the Qi35 Max. Stronger lofts, a heavier stock shaft and $30 more is a worse fit for the player this model is built for, unless a fitter has you on a launch monitor saying otherwise.
