The Trackman iO is a hybrid tracker that Trackman says is ceiling-mounted and built for indoor play; the Foresight GCQuad is a photometric unit that works on its own and is listed for outdoor use. Trackman doesn't publish whether the iO works outdoors. Both measure spin and club data.
Which one is cheaper depends on the plan. Up front the iO is $2,004 less ($13,995 vs $15,999). But the iO's cheapest plan is $700 a year against $199 for Foresight+ Silver, and over five years with a plan the GCQuad comes out about $250 cheaper (about $17,250 vs about $17,500 in our standard scenario). Without a plan the iO stays about $2,250 cheaper.
The other trade-offs are practical. The iO needs a Windows PC but no markers; the GCQuad needs no device but does need the club marker pack for some data. Trackman publishes at least 8.2 ft from ball to screen for the iO; Foresight publishes no room length for the GCQuad.
Our read: if you want a no-markers indoor bay and already run a PC, the iO costs less up front. If you want to use it outdoors, skip the PC, or pay for a plan long term, the GCQuad is the better fit. We haven't tested either unit; this is based on published specs.
