Loft for loft these two are remarkably close: 19°, 22°, 25.5°, 29° at the 7, 33°, 37°, and a 42° pitching wedge on both. The Quantum Max adds a sand wedge at 55°; the G440's published line-up stops at its 47° gap wedge.
The difference that isn't in the loft table is length. Callaway's 7-iron is 37.25", PING's is 37". A quarter of an inch adds a little clubhead speed and takes away a little control, and it is worth knowing when someone tells you one set is "longer" than the other.
PING publishes no prices and doesn't name a stock shaft, so those rows are not available on its side. Callaway lists KBS MAX 90 steel for the Quantum Max, and said the family starts at $1,149.99 without breaking it out by model, so we leave its price cell empty too rather than quote a sale price as a launch price.
Our read: this is a fitting decision, not a spec decision. The lofts match, the construction stories differ, and both brands will build either set to your length and lie. Go hit both, ignore the club numbers, and compare carry distances at the same loft.
