Should you replace your Qi4D Fairway with the Callaway Quantum Max Fairway Woods?

Through the top of the range these two are the same club on paper: both build a 15° 3-wood, both build a 16.5° they call a 3HL, both build an 18° 5-wood, and both come to 43.25" in right and left hand.

They separate after that. TaylorMade stops at 21° and 24°. Callaway keeps going — a 20° it calls a Heavenwood, then 21°, 24° and a 27° 11-wood. If the club you're missing sits weaker than a 9-wood, only Callaway publishes one.

The other real gap is head size: TaylorMade publishes 185 cc, Callaway 160 cc. That's a quarter of the difference between a fairway wood and a hybrid, and it's a look-at-address decision more than a performance one.

TaylorMade publishes a ±2.0° sleeve. Callaway says the hosel adjusts but doesn't publish the range, so we leave it blank. TaylorMade states the Qi4D has no weight track; Callaway publishes no movable-weight field at all — those are two different things and we don't merge them. Callaway publishes a 57° lie; TaylorMade publishes no lie for this head.

TaylorMade lists the Qi4D fairway at $379.99, Callaway the Quantum Max at $399.99 — twenty dollars apart at launch.

TaylorMade claims Twist Face tightens dispersion and the Speed Pocket protects speed low on the face. Callaway claims Speed Wave 2.0 does the same job and pitches a shallow face for off-the-deck contact. Same promises, different names, neither measured here.

Our read: keep the Qi4D unless you want a Heavenwood or an 11-wood, or you prefer the smaller head. Through 3-wood to 5-wood there is nothing between them worth switching brands for.
